1946 - plant was created under manage of
Ministry of Sea Transport of USSR.
1967 -a plant was passed in the manage
of department of shiprepair of USSR Navy.
The changing of the management of the plant in
1967 was caused that in this time Soviet Union
has unfolded the broad program a production
high-speed torpedo-, missile-, border motorboat
for the USSR's Navy (the projects 205, 206, 254,
266, 266М, 1824 and other). Simultaneously with
this, ships of this projects in quite a numbers
(beside 1000 units) Soviet Union has delivered on export.
First of all, in country of, so named "third world",
soviet political orientation.
Special high-speed diesel engines М-500 and М-400 (М-50)
types were designed for these ships. The production of
them was organized in Saint-Petersburg (former Leningrad)
at the factory "Zvezda" (now JSC "Zvezda").
For the servicing and repair this ships and their motor
installation three service centres with necessary
production infrastructure, personnel, technological equipment,
technical documentation were created:
- in Riga (at present - Latvia, EU) - for ships of the
Baltic and North fleet, Navy of Poland and East Germany;
- in Khabarovsk (Russia) - for ships of the Pacific fleet and
countries of the Pacific and Indian ocean regions;
- in Feodosia (Feodosia ship&mechanical plant, engines
М-500 types ) and Balaklava (Shiprepair plant "Metalist",
engines М-50 types) - for ships of Black Sea fleet,
Caspian fleet, Bulgaria, Romania, countries of the Middle
East and Africa.
1996 - a plant was passed in Ministry of defence of Ukraine.
2003 - the order of Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine the plan
of measures on demilitarization and ecological making of area of the
Balaklava bay of Sevastopol was ratified. By this order State enterprise
Balaklava Shiprepair plant "Metalist" was reorganized as a branch of
the State enterprise "Feodosia ship&mechanical plant"
2005 - top management of the plant was replaced, marketing
department was created, in which high skilled specialists were attracted,
new command's primary purposes are:
- rapid and aggressive renewal of market share on repair of ship engines
of the M500 and M50 families
- diversification of production to the direction of market of gas&oil equipment
